HARLEM, NY — A man has been arrested in a shooting that left a 23-year-old dead in Harlem on Christmas Eve, officials said.

Sadiq Gilmore, 21, was nabbed by officers in West Harlem nearly a week after the shooting and has since been charged with criminally negligent homicide, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.

The victim, identified as Anthony Fauntleroy, 23, was found by police with a gunshot wound to the torso on the fifth floor of 1430 Amsterdam Ave., the address of NYCHA’s Manhattanville Houses, Patch previously reported.

Medics rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside St. Luke's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

On Sunday, police added that both Gilmore and Fauntleroy were residents of the public housing complex.
