Harlem Mom Killed After Son Shoved Her Down Park Embankment: Cops
Police said a Harlem woman died after her son allegedly pushed her down an embankment in Riverside Park on Sunday afternoon.

HARLEM, NY — A Harlem woman died this weekend after her son allegedly shoved her down an embankment in Riverside Park, police said Monday.
Vianel Garcia, 44, was in Riverside Park with her 22-year-old son, Miguel Duval, on Sunday afternoon when the attack occurred.
Around 4:15 p.m., Duval allegedly pushed Garcia off a grass embankment near Riverside Drive and West 165th Street, resulting in serious physical injuries, police reported.

Responding to a 911 call reporting an "assault," police found Garcia laying at the bottom of the embankment and promptly took Duval into police custody. He was officially charged with second degree murder later that night.
Garcia was rushed by medics to Harlem Hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead on Sunday evening, police said.

No motive has been revealed for the attack. As of Monday morning, the investigation remains ongoing.
