Co-built by the companies Richman Group Development, Bridges Development Group, and Monadnock Development and Hope Community Development, One East Harlem was designed by S9 Architecture.

It was funded in part by $33 million from the city's Housing Preservation and Development department, plus $74 million from the Housing Development Corporation — with support from then-City Councilmember Melissa Mark-Viverito.

It is also slated to include a Food Bazaar supermarket, plus cultural space and other retail.

Half of the affordable units will be set aside for residents of East Harlem's Community District 11, plus 5 percent set aside for city employees, another 5 percent for mobility-limited people, and 2 percent for those with vision or hearing impairments.

Apply online on the Housing Connect website. You can also request an application by mail, by sending a self-addressed envelope to Richman Property Services, Inc., P.O Box 780 New York, NY 10035.
