Hakimian has developed more than 30 "ground up" buildings in New York City since the firm was founded in 1970, according to its website. None of the developments listed on Hakimian's website are located above 96th Street, which would make the East 125th Street building the firm's first foray in to Harlem.
The development firm acquired its East 125th Street in October 2018 for $10 million, according to public real estate records. Hakimian acquired the property using an LLC called 212 East 125th Street LLC.
