HARLEM, NY — A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death inside a grocery store in Harlem on Thursday, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the man was stabbed several times inside 168 Lenox Ave. at 2:38 p.m. on Thursday.

NYPD sources also said that the victim was a mailman for the United States Postal Service, who was on the job at the time.

The man was rushed by emergency responders to NYC Health+Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The name is being withheld until the family can be properly notified, police said.
