Man Fatally Shot In Harlem Deli, Police Say
The 29-year-old man was shot in the neck Monday while entering a deli on the corner of Lenox Avenue and West 137th Street.
HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is investigating the death of a man who was shot Monday in a deli on a Harlem street corner, police said.
Bronx resident Leroy Phinazee, 29, was entering Funfair Deli on the corner of West 137th Street and Lenox Avenue when he was shot in the neck and shoulder from behind, police said. The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m., police said.
EMS rushed Phinazee to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting, and the homicide investigation in ongoing. A suspect has not been identified, police said.
Monday night's shooting is the fifth homicide to be reported in the NYPD's 32nd Precinct this year, according to department crime statistics as of June 16. The number of killings matches the precinct's total number of homicides for all of 2018. The 32nd Precinct spans much of Central Harlem from West 127th Street to West 155th Street between St. Nicholas and Fifth avenues.
