Man Arrested For Killing Near Harlem River Drive, Police Say

A 48-year-old Bronx resident was killed by the East Harlem highway in November.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man is facing charges in connection to a November killing of a man in East Harlem, police said.

Reginald Cooper, a 56-year-old Bronx resident, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, police said. Cooper is accused of attacking Tyrone Campbell, 48, near East 135th Street and the Harlem River Drive on Nov. 16, leading to the man's death.

Officer arrived on the scene of the attack and found Campbell, a Bronx resident, suffering from trauma to the head and body, police said. Campbell was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Despite Cooper's arrest, the investigation into the death is ongoing and the crime has been classified a homicide, police said.
