Man Opens Fire On Harlem Street, Police Say

Nobody was injured when a man fired two shots on West 138th Street.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who opened fire Thursday on a Harlem street, but missed his target, police said.

The shooter approached an unidentified person on Amsterdam Avenue and West 138 Street around 12:50 a.m. Thursday, displayed a silver firearm and fired off two shots, police said. The bullets failed to find their target and both the shooter and targets fled the scene, police said.

Nobody was injured during the shooting, police said.

The gunman was last seen fleeing east on West 140th Street, police said. He was wearing a black down jacket, tan boots, a white hoodie and black jeans at the time of the shooting. A second man, who did not open fire, is also wanted in connection with the shooting as an accomplice.
