Man Shot On East Harlem Corner, Police Say

The gunshot victim was hospitalized in stable condition.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man was shot Monday on an East Harlem street corner, police said.

A 22-year-old man was standing outside a building on the corner of Second Avenue and East 111th Street when an unknown man approached him from behind and fired several shots at him, police said. One of the bullets hit the man in the left leg, police said.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

The shooter fled the scene by heading north on Second Avenue and has not been arrested, police said. The man is described as having light skin and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, gray sweatpants and black and white sneakers
