Moped Rider Sought In West Harlem Shooting, Police Say

Police asked for help identifying a man accused of shooting someone in West Harlem before scooting away on a moped.

HARLEM, NY — Police asked for help identifying a man accused of shooting someone in West Harlem last month and then fleeing on a moped.

The shooting happened around 4:41 a.m. on July 17 on Amsterdam Avenue near La Salle Street — in front of the Grant Houses complex.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, was shot in the right leg by the unidentified suspect, who drove away. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai-St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.

Police on Sunday released a photo of the suspect, taken near the site of the shooting. He is described as a man with medium complexion, short, black hair, and facial hair.
