Man Fatally Struck By Train In 116th St Station, Police Say

A man was struck and killed by a train at the 116th Street and Lenox Avenue station shortly after 9:30 a.m. Friday, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A man was killed after being hit by a train Friday morning in a Harlem subway station, NYPD and MTA officials said.

The man was struck by a southbound train in the tunnel at the 116th Street and Lenox Avenue subway station shortly after 9:30 a.m., police said. An NYPD spokesman said that a crime is not suspected in connection to the man's death.

Service on the 2 and 3 lines was suspended between 96th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse while first responders operated in the station, MTA officials announced.
