Plans Filed For 45-Unit Apartment Building In East Harlem
The new building will be developed on an empty lot on East 119th Street.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct an eight-story apartment complex on a vacant East Harlem lot.
The new apartment building will rise 85-feet-tall and contain 45 apartment units, according to development plans. The development site is located on East 119th Street between Second and Third avenues.
The newly-proposed building is zoned exclusively for residential use, according to development plans. The building will contain 28,188 square feet of buildable space, which means the average apartment units will be about 626 square feet.

Amenities at the new building will include bicycle storage, an indoor recreational facility and a rooftop outdoor recreation space, according to building plans.
The new building plans were filed by a Queens-based developer named David Tong. The firm Ryamond Chan Architect will design the new building, according to plans filed with the city.

The new apartment building includes more apartments than previous plans for the site filed in 2014. In 2014, developers filed to build a nine-story apartment building with only 32 apartments. The previous project — which was proposed by a different developer — also had space zoned for a community facility.
