Plans Filed For 9-Story, 136-Unit Apartment Building In Harlem

The new development will rise on a vacant site a few blocks south of Marcus Garvey Park.

HARLEM, NY — Developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct a new nine-story apartment building in Central Harlem, according to public records.

The new development will rise 87-feet-tall and will contain 136 apartment units, according to building plans. With a total of 150,537 square feet designated for residential use, the average apartment unit will be about 1,100 square feet.

The new building will be located at 11 W. 118th St., which is located between Fifth Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, according to development plans. The building site is currently vacant. The apartment complex will be located just two blocks south of Marcus Garvey Park and the nearest subway is the 1/2 station on Malcolm X Boulevard and West 116th Street.

The new building will feature residential amenities such as a laundry room, recreation rooms and bike storage on its cellar floor, according to building plans.

Victory One Housing Development is listed as the new building's owner and Aufgang Architects will be behind the design, according to plans.
