Plans Filed For New 8-Story Harlem Development

The new West 145th Street building will include apartments, retail space and a ground-floor church.

HARLEM, NY — A developer has filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to construct an eight-story building on West 145th Street in Harlem that would be home to a church, retail spaces and more than 70 apartment units.

The new development, located at 210 West 145th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. and Frederick Douglass boulevards, will rise 85-feet-tall on a currently vacant lot, according to building plans. The structure would contain a total of 59,558 square feet of buildable space, most of which is zoned for residential use.

The building's ground floor would be home to a 3,540-square-foot church (which also contains cellar access) and 6,099 square feet of retail space, according to building plans. The rest of the building's space, 49,919 square feet, will be spread out among 72 apartment units. The average apartment would be just under 700 square feet.
