Cop Charged With Rape In East Harlem: NYPD

The police officer was charged with rape, strangulation and assault.

EAST HARLEM, NY — An off-duty police officer was arrested on Friday in East Harlem and charged with rape, the New York City Police Department said.

According to the NYPD, Samuel Sierra, 35, was arrested on Friday at 7:20 p.m. in the 23rd precinct.

The cop was charged with one count of rape in the first degree, one count of strangulation in the second degree, and one count of assault in the third degree, officials said.
