Police Release Photo Of East Harlem Subway Slasher

The man is accused of slashing a subway passenger on a 4 train traveling through the Upper East Side and East Harlem.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD released the photograph of a man wanted in connection with a slashing on a train traveling through East Harlem in an effort to identify the suspect, police said.

The suspect was riding an uptown 4 train Friday afternoon when he got into an argument with another passenger while the train approached the 86th Street and Lexington Avenue station, police said. As the train pulled into the next stop at 125th Street, the suspect slashed the man in the abdomen with an unknown object and fled the scene, police said.

The victim got off the train at East 138 Street and Grand Concourse in the Bronx for medical help, police said. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition, said police.

Police released the suspect's photo, but had little on the man in terms of identifying information.
