Police Release Photo Of Man Wanted For Harlem Shooting

The man is accused of shooting a 19-year-old in front of a Harlem restaurant in May.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Harlem, police said.

The unknown man is accused of shooting a 19-year-old in front of a restaurant on the night of Thursday, May, 17, police said. The NYPD released a photo of the man Tuesday and is asking the public to help put a name to the face.

The shooting occurred in front of Coumba Restaurant on West 116th Street between Lenox and Seventh avenues, police said. Officers arrived on the scene around 8:50 p.m. to find the 19-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. The man who was shot was taken to Saint Luke's Hospital and has since been released, police said.

The gunman opened fire after a verbal argument with the victim, police said. Police did not provide a physical description of the suspect but said he was last seen wearing a Yankees baseball cap, a blue denim camouflage jacket, a black shirt, black pants and gray sneakers.
