Police Seek Suspect In Killing Of Shanice Young In Harlem
Police have released the name and photo of a suspect in the shooting of Shanice Young, a pregnant woman killed outside her baby shower.

HARLEM, NY — Police on Tuesday released the name and photo of a suspect in the killing of Shanice Young, a pregnant woman who was fatally shot outside her own baby shower this week.
Justin Soriano, 40, is wanted in connection with Sunday's shooting, which happened around 1:16 a.m. near the corner of West 128th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Police described him as about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 215 pounds.
Young, 31, lived just steps away and was expecting her third child. She was carrying presents from the party into her own building when her ex-boyfriend arrived and confronted her current boyfriend, leading to a confrontation, the Daily News reported.

When Young intervened in the fight, her ex reportedly shot her in the head. Young was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.
Community leaders have condemned the killing, calling Young's death an example of the disproportionate violence faced by Black women.

In response to Young's death and a spate of other shootings, the gun violence-prevention group Street Corner Resources was planning a rally Tuesday afternoon calling for peace.
