17-year-old Samuel Ozuna was shot multiple times in front of a building in East Harlem's George Washington Carver Houses.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A man is facing federal charges for gunning down a 17-year-old in front of an East Harlem public housing building, federal prosecutors announced this week.
Gary Turner was indicted by a grand jury on charges of using a firearm to commit murder in aid of racketeering, which carries a possible sentence of life in prison and a minimum sentence of five years, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York said.
Turner was arrested Tuesday, one week after the death of 17-year-old Samuel Ozuna, prosecutors said.

"Just a few days ago, as alleged in the indictment, Gary Turner murdered 17-year-old Samuel Ozuna," U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said in a statement. "Thanks to the outstanding efforts of the NYPD, Turner is now in custody and charged with this terrible crime."
Ozuna was shot multiple times in the chest in front of 60 E. 104th St., located on the corner of Park Avenue, police said.

EMS transported Ozuna to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The apartment building where the boy was found is part of the New York City Housing Authority's George Washington Carver Houses. The grand jury indictment alleges that Turner killed Ozuna to enhance his status in a racketeering ring operating within the public housing development.
