Teen Fatally Shot In Head In Upper Manhattan: NYPD

A person of interest was taken into custody from the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to NYPD.

HARLEM, NY — The New York Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a teen early Tuesday morning.

According to police, around 12:44 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting that occurred inside a building at the Polo Grounds Towers complex, which is at 2937 Frederick Douglass Blvd.

When police arrived on the scene, an officer found an 18-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

Police said EMS responded to the location and transported the teen to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
