Teen Jumps To Death From East Harlem Building, Police Say

The 13-year-old boy was found unconscious and suffering injuries consistent with a fall in front of an East Harlem building.

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy found unconscious Monday in East Harlem as a suicide, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The boy was found in front of a building on Lexington Avenue and East 130th Street shortly after Midnight suffering injuries "consistent with a fall from an elevated location," an NYPD spokeswoman said. The boy was rushed to Harlem Hospital and was pronounced dead around 1 a.m., the spokeswoman said.

Investigators believe the death to be a suicide, the spokeswoman said. The city medical examiner will determine the boy's exact cause of death.
