Teen Shot Dead At East Harlem Public Housing Building, Police Say

The 17-year-old's body was found in front of a building in East Harlem's George Washington Carver Houses.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A 17-year-old boy was shot to death Tuesday night in front of an East Harlem public housing building, police said.

Officers arrived at 60 E. 104th St., located on the corner of Park Avenue, around 8:38 p.m. to discover the 17-year-old suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, police said. The boy was unconscious and unresponsive when he was found, police said.

EMS transported the victim to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The NYPD is investigating the death and no suspects have been arrested or identified, police said. The apartment building where the boy was found is part of the New York City Housing Authority's George Washington Carver Houses.

The victim was not identified by police.
