Vacant East Harlem Building To Be Demolished, Permits Show
An empty, boarded-up building that for years has blighted a block of Third Avenue in East Harlem is set to be demolished, permits show.

EAST HARLEM, NY — An East Harlem building that has sat boarded-up and vacant for years will be demolished, according to permits filed with the city this week.
The five-story building at the corner of Third Avenue and East 115th Street has blighted the block since at least 2009, when Google Street View images first captured its boarded-up windows.
Permits to renovate the building were filed in 2010 and 2015, but resulted in few visible changes from the outside.

The demolition permits filed Monday list the building's owner as Rami Noy, affiliated with the real estate firm Helm Management.
They make no mention of when demolition would begin on the building, which houses 17 apartment units and stans 61 feet tall. No permits for new construction have been filed for the site.
