Woman Dies On Motorbike Driven Wrong Way Down Harlem Street: NYPD
The 28-year-old woman was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle when she and the driver were thrown off after hitting a speed bump.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A woman died early Thursday morning after being thrown from the back of a motorcycle being driven the wrong way down an East Harlem street, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The 28-year-old woman was riding with a 42-year-old man on East 110th Street near Second Avenue when the man hit a speed bump, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Both passengers were ejected from the bike and struck the pavement, the spokeswoman said.
Officers arrived at the scene around 4:40 a.m. and found the woman suffering severe trauma, an NYPD spokeswoman said. EMS personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene, police said. The man who was driving the motorcycle was taken to St. Luke's hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police said the man was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson against traffic on East 100th Street at a high rate of speed when he struck the speed bump. The investigation into the one-vehicle crash is still ongoing, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The man, identified as Antwane Johnson, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
