Woman Stabbed To Death In Harlem Stairwell: Police

A 38-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed Wednesday in a stairwell at an East Harlem housing complex, police said.

EAST HARLEM, NY — A 38-year-old woman was stabbed to death early Wednesday at an East Harlem public housing complex, police said.

Police responded around 6:08 a.m. to reports of a woman being stabbed at 2390 Second Ave., part of the NYCHA Wagner Houses.

Officers found the victim lying unconscious and unresponsive on a staircase between the second and third floors, with stab wounds across her body.

She was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman's name is being withheld pending proper family notification.

Police have made no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
