Purchase, New York - (August, 2024) – Broadview at Purchase, a university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase, has hired Ramya Thambuswamy Hopley as the new Residency Counselor at the High Point Center for Care.

Thambuswamy Hopley brings more than 20 years of experience in the fields of healthcare and public relations to the position. Her career has spanned a diverse range of industries, from nonprofit organizations to Fortune 500 companies. Thambuswamy Hopley holds a master's degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo. She lives in Greenwich, CT, with her husband, where she serves on various town boards and associations and volunteers with nonprofit organizations.

“At Broadview at Purchase College, I’ll be focused on helping residents get the best care at the High Point Center for Care for Assisted Living and Memory Care,” said Thambuswamy Hopley. “I’m deeply committed to building community, both in my personal life and professionally, so this role is a wonderful fit for me.”

Ashley Wade, Executive Director of Broadview at Purchase, said she is excited to welcome Thambuswamy Hopley as Residency Counselor. “Ramya will be the perfect person to guide potential residents and their families through the process of selecting and moving into a senior living facility like Broadview at Purchase, letting them know about all the wonderful benefits of living here,” she said.

The High Point Center for Care supports varying levels of care, allowing residents to age in place in a safe comfortable environment that allows them to enjoy social connections, cultural experiences and continued personal and intellectual growth. There are 36 private residential-style one-bedroom suites featuring a range of amenities, including a walk-in shower and kitchenette. Residents receive all-hours support with the activities of daily living, with licensed nursing staff on-site around the clock, seven days a week. High Point also offers 32 private suites in a cheerful, comfortable memory care neighborhood designed to reduce confusion and boost confidence. The staff is specially trained to support the unique needs of those affected by Alzheimer’s or other forms of cognitive impairment.

Set on 40 acres with walking and exercise trails, Broadview at Purchase College offers a full continuum of services. The community has 174 senior residential apartments, 20 percent of which are set aside for residents who meet certain median income requirements. There are 10 different floor plans with one-bedroom, one- bedroom with study, two- bedroom and two-bedroom with study options ranging from 675 square feet to 1,909 square feet. In addition, there are 46 villas or single-family homes on the property offering four different floor plans ranging from 1,927 square feet to 2,224 square feet. All are two-bedrooms with a study and are on one level.

Broadview offers a wealth of amenities, including a swimming pool, fitness center, movie theatre, spa and salon, dining venues, and on-site health center, among other features. There is a flexible dining program with chef-prepared meals, weekly housekeeping and concierge service.

And as part of the Purchase College community, Broadview residents also enjoy the many amenities of the college including the renowned Neuberger Museum of Art, the Performing Arts Center, the academic and athletic facilities, and the park-like campus as well as formal and informal programming and collaborative opportunities designed to promote intergenerational engagement with students.
