Broadview at Purchase Hires New Healthcare Navigator

Purchase, New York – January 31, 2024 – Broadview at Purchase has hired Phyllis McPherson as its new Healthcare Navigator.

McPherson has 20 years of experience in the field of nursing and is committed to providing outstanding care to the seniors living at Broadview. In her new role, Ms. McPherson will help evaluate seniors’ needs and will assist them with navigating the many available programs and resources available within and outside of Broadview.

“We are delighted to have Phyllis join Broadview as our new Healthcare Navigator,” said Purchase at Broadview Executive Director Ashley Wade. “She’s an experienced leader in the healthcare field, and we are so excited to welcome her to the team and have her help our residents as they continue to pursue their passions.’’

Broadview at Purchase is a university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase. Broadview opened in December of 2023 and champions intergenerational connections and lifelong learning. Located on a 40-acre site on campus with walking and exercise trails, Broadview offers a wealth of amenities, including a swimming pool, fitness center, movie theatre, spa and salon, dining venues, and on-site health center, among other features.

Prior to coming to Broadview, Ms. McPherson worked as a Registered Nurse in acute care, including Medical, Surgical, ICU, home care, and Behavioral Health. She is a Certified Professional in Utilization Review, and she is also a Certified Case Manager. She has a Master of Arts Degree in Nursing Administration from Columbia, Teacher's College as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Bronx Community College.

Ms. McPherson has experience developing clinical case management and clinical appeals programs that assist with enhancing revenue cycles. When not working, Ms. McPherson enjoys spending time with her husband of 17 years as well as deep sea fishing, traveling, and playing board games.
