Westchester Pride 2022 is set to return to an in-person event after a two-year hiatus due to COVID and is expecting a record level setting crowd of 7,000+ people, making it one of the largest Pride events in New York State, north of New York City.

Westchester Pride’s mission this year is to provide a space for healing, connection and celebration. The event returns at a tumultuous time for the LGBTQ+ Community, coming out of the long and painful COVID pandemic while also confronting the very real threat of losing court-appointed rights vis a vis The Supreme Court.

“Right now, it’s a frightening time for many in the community. From what we’re hearing, people are deeply concerned about losing their right to marry, to their reproductive health, and protection against discrimination. It’s a very troubling time for our community, which is why Westchester Pride is so important. Our hope is that we can use Pride as a place not only to celebrate but to also spread the word that we need to band together to address the real possibility that our rights may be taken away,” says, Judy Troilo, Executive Director of The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center, producer of Westchester Pride.

This year’s headline acts include official Pride host, Olivia Lux from RuPaul’s Drag Race, a House and Ballroom event co-partnered with Arts Westchester, “Ballroom: Beyond the Binary” featuring performers, Twiggy Pucci Garcon (of POSE fame) and Milan Garcon featured in HBO’s Legendary with other house members.

Broadway Sings For Pride will bring together a nexus of top-tier Broadway performers who promise to razzle and dazzle the crowd.

Other points of interest include the festival staples: Flag Raising and a kickoff by Westchester County Executive, George Latimer, The Pride Pet Parade, the Homecoming Queer Contest, The Family Zone (area specifically for children: games, fun and treats), and The After Party featuring DJ Hausboi, this year held at The Sonesta in Downtown White Plains, NY (6:30-8:00 PM).
