Wellington's Grill In Harrison Closing After 27 Years
The restaurant in Harrison opened in 1995, but the lights are now out at the favorite spot for anniversaries, birthdays and date nights.

HARRISON, NY — A beloved restaurant in Harrison, Wellington's Grill, is closing its doors after 27 years in business.
The restaurant, on Halstead Avenue in Harrison, put up a sign on their red door and also announced on social media Thursday afternoon that they have closed their doors permanently.
"Effective July 6th, Wellington's Grill will be closed for dine in, take out and delivery," the owners, Alexandra and Bill Powell, wrote. "Thank you to the staff for 27 years of loyalty and for the great memories."

The "family friendly bar and grill" was known for its prime rib, lobster dinner, lobster roll, bbq ribs, clam chowder and burgers.
Owners Aly and Bill Powell originally opened Wellington's in 1995. After the restaurant changed hands a few times over the years, they decided to re-open the popular restaurant in 2017 with an updated concept and decor.

"Our prime rib is the best around town!," the owners often said in a claim, loyal regulars backed up. "We excel to achieve amazing customer service, and provide our customers with a comfortable environment to bring their friends, family or even go out alone for a night! Our cocktails are delicious and pair well with our accommodating menu."
There is a silver lining to this story as well.
The owners also wrote, "We will still be able to accommodate in house events such as showers, retirement parties, bereavement, etc..."
In addition, the restaurant's outdoor "Wellington's Soup Shack" will remain open.
An outpouring of support and appreciation from fans of Wellington's appeared on the restaurant's social media page shortly after the announcement.
