HAUPPAUGE, NY — Angela's House was voted Best Charity on Long Island in the 2024 Bethpage Best of LI Awards.

The Hauppauge-based non-profit assists families caring for children with special health care needs who are medically fragile, chronically ill or living with a life-threatening illness.

"We are very proud for the honor of being voted the best charity on LI," Bob Policastro, founder and executive director of Angela's House, told Patch. "What is most important is the recognition and awareness that we are there helps parents in our community by assisting them in caring for their child that are medically fragile. That is the best reward we can all ask for."

Angela's House has won the award three years in a row.

"I feel the consistency comes from the trust and compassion we have from my personal experience of being a parent of a child, Angela, who was medically fragile, which drives our 32-year mission helping over 10,000 children on LI," Policastro said.
