Baby Jesus Statue Returned To Nativity Scene At H. Lee Dennison Building, County Says

Officials say the statue was returned following a public appeal earlier last week.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — The Baby Jesus statue that was reported stolen from a Nativity scene outside the H. Lee Dennison Building has been returned, Suffolk County officials said Friday.

In a joint statement, Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina confirmed the statue was returned following a public appeal made earlier this week.

“The Suffolk County Police Department thanks the public for its assistance and cooperation,” the statement said.

The statue had been taken from a Nativity scene displayed on the Hauppauge campus, which is set up annually and donated by St. Michael the Archangel Chapel.
