• Hauppauge Driver Airlifted After Car Slams Into Tractor Trailer In Bohemia: Police (patch.com) — A 41-year-old Hauppauge man was seriously injured Thursday night when his car struck a backing tractor-trailer on Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia, police said. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, and Suffolk County’s Motor Carrier Unit is investigating. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Fifth Squad detectives.

Kathy Hochul joined labor leaders and union workers at the IBEW Local 25 hall in Hauppauge to demand the Trump administration lift its stop-work order on offshore wind projects, warning of lost union jobs. The rally tied Hauppauge directly to the high-stakes fight over Long Island’s offshore wind future, legal challenges, and the region’s long-term energy reliability.
