HAUPPAUGE, NY — Teachers Federal Credit Union recently hosted a food drive and donated 40 baskets of traditional Thanksgiving foods to the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless (LICH), according to a news release.
Teachers FCU encouraged its employees to participate in the company-funded initiative, which took place on Nov. 16. Each basket will be donated to a family in need through LICH.
LICH was originally founded in 1985 as a grassroots local advocacy effort to bring non-profits and other community partners together to unite around the cause of homelessness.
