Toddler Fatally Drowns In Suffolk Pool

The 2-year-old was pulled from a residential pool unresponsive, police say. Family members tried performing CPR.

ISLANDIA, NY — A toddler fatally drowned in the pool of his Islandia home on Tuesday, Suffolk police said.

Officers were called to Sunflower Lane at 12:40 p.m. after Chosen Johnson-Pierre, 2, was found unresponsive in the pool. A family member pulled Chosen out of the water. The family started CPR until first responders arrived on scene.

Chosen was pronounced dead at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore.
