Vitamin Manufacturer Coming to Industrial Area

A vitamin and nutritional supplement manufacturer is planning a move to the industrial area on the Hauppauge/Commack border, according to a report in Newsday. 

According to the report, the $250,000 project will add 20 jobs over two years. The company currently employs 11 people.

The IDA agreed to provide Vitamix with a $67,091 property tax reduction over five years and a $7,892 sales-tax exemption on the purchase of equipment and materials, the report states.

Vitamix was eligible for tax breaks under the IDAs Boost program, which targets small businesses in high-growth industries, such as biosciences, pharmaceuticals, green technology and information technology.
