Woman Seriously Injured In Suffolk Motorcycle Crash

The woman fell off the back of a motorcycle she was the passenger on, police say.

ISLANDIA, NY — A motorcycle passenger was seriously injured in Islandia on Saturday evening, Suffolk police said.

A Rego Park man, 49, was riding a 2021 Yamaha Motorcycle westbound on the Long Island Expressway, near Old Nichols Road, when his passenger, a 46-year-old Jamaica, Queens, woman, fell off the back of the motorcycle around 7 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The woman was brought to a hospital to be treated for serious injuries that are not life-threatening, police said. The man was not injured.
