City Pays Suspects It Locked In Disgusting Brooklyn Cells
Nearly 20 suspects were paid settlements after they were locked up in overcrowded, dirty jails in the Brooklyn Central Booking.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — The city will pay out $151,000 to nearly 20 people who sued after being held in disgusting holding cells — covered in bodily fluids — while being processed, the New York Daily News reported.
The people sued the city after they were placed in the overcrowded, dirty jails inside the Brooklyn Central Booking facility from 2011 to 2013 when it was in the basement of the Brooklyn Detention Complex at 275 Atlantic Ave., the News reported.
The temporary holding facility was later moved to the basement of the nearby Brooklyn Criminal Court on Schermerhorn Street.
