Brooklyn Bridge Park Seeks Builders For Pier 2 Uplands Project
The 3.4-acre park, expected to open in 2020, will have a large lawn, water garden and more, according to officials.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — The Brooklyn Bridge Park put out a call for contractors to build one of the final sections of the park at Pier 2 on Monday, with construction expected to start in the fall, officials said.
The park invited bids for construction of the 3.4-acre Pier 2 Uplands section on Monday that will add a large lawn, water garden and more to the site, a spokeswoman for Brooklyn Bridge Park said.
The project will take over a paved area of the park that is currently home to the popular pop-up pool at the site. Plans call to demolish the pool as part of the construction, which was extended another season this summer because of its popularity with residents.
