- The Brooklyn Heights community fridge at 124 Clark St. celebrated its grand opening with a special "plug-in" event yesterday. In keeping with the neighborhood the fridge is painted to look like the door of a brownstone. Rev. Adriene Thorne of the First Presbyterian Church said: "The Brooklyn Heights Community Fridge fills stomachs, but it does so much more. It teaches lessons about what it means for neighbors to love neighbors." (Brooklyn Heights Blog)
- Skateboarders from Golconda Skate Park under the BQE are putting on a play from today through next Sunday. "A Skate Play" is based on the novella Jonathan Livingston Seagull, the coming-of-age story of a seagull. The skateboarder's wheels represent the flight of the birds, and all actors were cast from the Golconda Skate Park community. (Brooklyn Reader)
- With New York City public school's vaccine mandate about to begin, school employees report a 95% vaccination rate. That includes over 16,000 shots given since September 24. (NYC Patch)
