F Train Running Along A Line After Track Issues On York St

Two faults in the rails around the York Street station caused slow speeds and the F Train toward Brooklyn to run along the A line.

DUMBO, NY — Track issues near the York Street station caused Brooklyn-bound F trains to run on the A line Tuesday afternoon, the MTA said.

F trains were stopping along the A line, between the West Fourth St-Washington Square station and the Jay St-MetroTech stop, after an automated inspection car found two faults on the rails near the York Street station, a spokeswoman for the MTA said.

The track geometry car flagged the issues at about 2:10 p.m. and the MTA put speed restrictions on trains, the spokeswoman said. The issue also caused delays on the A and C lines.
