Hammer-Wielding Man Robbed Brooklyn Heights Jewelry Store: NYPD
The man stole a large amount of jewelry from an Atlantic Avenue shop by threatening workers with a hammer, police said.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A hammer-wielding man threatened workers at a Brooklyn Heights shop and forced them to hand over a large amount of jewelry last month, police said.
The man walked into the Erica Weiner store, at 360 Atlantic Ave., on May 23 at about 2:23 p.m. then took out a hammer and told workers inside he was going to rob the place, the NYPD said.
He forced four workers and one customer into the back of the shop and told them he would beat them with the hammer if they didn't fill his backpack with jewelry, police said.

The robber forced one female worker to walk around the shop with him and fill his bag with a large amount of jewelry before he ran out of the shop, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the robbery.
Police described the man as between 20 to 25-years-old and about 6-feet tall with a beard. He was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a sweat suit, brown hat and a backpack.
