BROOKLYN, NY — A 31-year-old man was slashed in the face last week after accidentally bumping into another passenger on a Brooklyn subway train, police said.

The attack took place around 5:23 p.m. on August 29 aboard a Queens-bound A train near the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station, police said.

According to authorities, a 31-year-old man boarded the crowded train and accidentally bumped into the suspect, who then became enraged. The suspect shouted something unintelligible before pulling a knife from his backpack.

He then attacked, slashing the victim on the left arm and side of the head before fleeing the train at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station and disappearing into the crowd, police said.

The victim was rushed to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance images Tuesday evening of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black hat, blue pants and a black sweater.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning. An investigation remains ongoing.
