Here Are The Movies Playing At Brooklyn Bridge Park This Summer
The 19th annual "Movies With a View" returns to the park next month with free weekly screening until August, organizers said.

DUMBO, NY — An eight-week series of free movie screening returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park next month, this time focusing on work from female filmmakers.
The 19th annual "Movies With a View"series will kick off on July 12 with a screening of the 1985 flick "Desperately Seeking Susan" then continue every Thursday until August 30, organizers announced.
This year, the park teamed up with Smorgasburg who will provide a rotating menu of food and drinks throughout the weekly screening. Aside from the food and movies, the screening will have pre-show music starting at 6 p.m. by local DJs and a short film.

The theme for the 2018 season of movies is "SHE DIRECTS" and will focus on women, trans-women and genderqueer directors including Susan Seidelman, Patty Jenkins, Penelope Spheeris and more, organizers said.

July 12 — "Desperately Seeking Susan" directed by Susan Seidelman with the short "Judith Loves Martha" by Anna Gaskell and music by DJ Isis Swaby.
July 19 — "Kung Fu Panda 2" directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson with the short "Majestic Wilderness!" by Elenor Kopka and music by The Avenue DJs.
July 26 — "Paris is Burning" directed by Jennie Livingston with the short "Wild Wild West" by Dime Davis and music by DJ Delish.
August 2 — "Bend It Like Beckham" directed by Gurinder Chadha with the short "War Paint" by Katrelle N. Kindred and music by DJ Niara Sterling.
August 9 — "Wayne's World" directed by Penelope Spheeris with the short "Via" by Maria Constanza Ferreira and music by DJ Baby K.
August 16 — "Love & Basketball" directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood with the short "To Be Free" by Adepero Oduye and music by DJ Reborn.
August 23 — "Wonder Woman" directed by Patty Jenkins with the short "Not To Be A Lady" by Elle Ginter and music by DJ Miss Hap.
The last screening is on August 30 and will be decided by an online vote between May 25 to June 24. The choices are "Dance, Girl, Dance" directed by Dorothy Arzner, "Big" directed by Penny Marshall, "Point Break" directed by Kathryn Bigelow and "The Matrix" directed by Lana and Lily Wachowski.
