Man Attacked With Hammer During Brooklyn Heights Robbery: Police
The 67-year-old man suffered a broken jaw after being attacked near Dean Street and Fourth Avenue, police said.
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A man hit a person in the head with a hammer during an afternoon robbery in Brooklyn Heights last week, police said. The attack left the victim with a broken jaw.
A 67-year-old man was walking near Dean Street and Fourth Avenue on Dec. 20 when a man approached him at about 3:45 p.m. and demanded money, the NYPD said.
The man told them he didn't have any cash when the male suspect took out a hammer and hit him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, authorities said. A female suspect then came and the pair took the victim's cellphone then fled westbound on Bergen Street, police said.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital in serious but stable condition with a broken jaw, pain and swelling to his face, police said.
The male suspect was described by police as about 6-feet tall, 170 pounds who was last seen wearing all dark clothing.

The woman was also last seen wearing all dark clothing, police said.
