Man Found Dead In Waters Near Brooklyn Bridge, Police Say

Emergency workers found the man in the East River, near the Brooklyn Bridge, on Wednesday morning, police said.

DUMBO, NY — A man was found dead in the waters near the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday morning, police said.

Police responded to a 911 call of a man floating in the East River and a harbor unit found him unconscious in the water at about 9:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

Emergency workers took him out of the river at Pier 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. His name has not been released yet.

The medical examiner will determine the man's cause of death and police said an investigation is ongoing.
