Man Punched In Face In Downtown Brooklyn Subway Station: NYPD

The 59-year-old man was punched in the face inside the Jay Street-MetroTech station last week, police said.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, NY — A man was punched in the face then hit his head on the platform of a Downtown Brooklyn subway station last week, police said.

The 59-year-old victim was waiting for a southbound A train at the Jay Street-MetroTech station platform on June 20 when he got into an argument with another straphanger at about 11:40 p.m., the NYPD said.

He punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the platform, before the attacker hopped on a southbound F train and fled the scene, police said.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital where he was treated and released for bleeding and pain from the attack, authorities said.

Police described the attacker as a 5-foot 11-inch tall, 175-pound man in his 20s.
