NYPD Detective Arrested For Stalking Ex, Police Say

Lori Campbell, 51, was arrested in the 84th Precinct on Tuesday and charged with stalking, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A high-ranking NYPD detective stalked her ex for months after they broke up, sending text messages and even pouring urine on her front door, police and reports said.

Lori Campbell, 51, was arrested on Tuesday morning in the 84th Precinct and charged with stalking by police, the NYPD said.

For nearly eight months, Campbell stalked her ex-girlfriend and her husband by sending thousands of text messages, following them in an unmarked police car and using an NYPD database to run searches on the couple, the New York Daily News reported.

Campbell, a former aide to Chief Terrance Monahan, even attacked her ex-girlfriend in December, leaving her hospitalized so she could have her pacemaker repaired, the paper reported.

On Feb. 10, Campbell wore a mask and spray painted a security camera on the couple's home then threw urine on their door, the News reported. The husband chased Campbell and DNA tests on the masks matched Campbell.

The NYPD suspended Campbell on Feb. 20 and placed her on desk duty, but she kept stalking the pair afterward, the News reported.

Campbell first met the 50-year-old women in 2004 and they eventually started to date. The woman layer broke up with Campbell and married a man, the News reported.

Prosecutors hit Campbell with a 19-count indictment on Tuesday and she pleaded not guilty to the charged, according to the News.
