4. Sen. Griffo, Assemblywoman Buttenschon Push for Health Care Policy to Combat Doctor Shortages in Rural Areas (wktv.com) — Herkimer County is flagged in a new state report for serious shortages of primary care, pediatric, OB-GYN, dental, and mental-health providers, alongside other rural counties. In response, Sen. Joe Griffo and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon are pushing legislation to boost loan repayment, housing tax breaks, and business incentives to attract more doctors and clinicians to underserved upstate communities.
