Resident Dies In Long Island Blaze That Drew Around 120 Firefighters
UPDATE: The person was pronounced dead the scene by a Nassau police medic.
HICKSVILLE, NY — One person was killed in an early morning blaze on Thursday that drew around 120 firefighters to a Hicksville, Nassau police said.
The fire started at around 6 a.m. on 9th Street, and upon arrival, officers saw the home "fully engulfed in flames," police said, adding that the Hicksville Fire Department, along with several other companies doused the fire.
Authorities told News 12 that it was hard for firefighters to enter the home, but once they were inside, they immediately found the resident dead.

The person, who was not identified, was pronounced dead by a Nassau police medic, according to a news release.
The person was the only one who lived at the home, fire officials told News 12.

No other injuries were reported, police said.
Homicide and Arson Bomb Squad detectives, as well as the Nassau County Fire Marshall all responded to scene, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
