3 Officers Hurt In 2 Separate Incidents In Nassau: Police
The officers were treated at local hospitals; two men were arrested and charged with assault, police say.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Three officers were injured in two separate incidents in Nassau County on Thursday, police said.
In the first incident, a Hicksville man "immediately" became aggressive towards officers responding to a disturbance in the parking lot of Broadway Plaza in Hicksville at around 10 a.m., according to police. Two officers were injured during the arrest of Justin Jose George, 27, as he was "violent and combative while resisting arrest," police said.
George and the two injured officers were all taken to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment, according to police.

George was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, and obstructing governmental administration, and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned when "medically practical," police said.
About 45 minutes later, Milton Viana, 49, of Sea Cliff bolted from officers trying to pull him over for speeding in Glenwood Landing, and when he stopped a short time later, he tried to run away and one officer was hurt during his arrest, according to police.

Viana was also "violent and combative while resisting arrest," police said.
He was charged with second-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration, third-degree unlawful fleeing and criminal mischief, as well as reckless driving, resisting arrest, and multiple vehicle traffic Infractions.
He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
The two incidents were the second and third such incidents in a day.
A Hempstead man was arrested Wednesday in a traffic stop after he assaulted another officer, police said.
